Steve Prost: A Military Chaplain Undertakes a PhD at TEDS

On May 5th, 2024, a beloved member of the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) community, Prof. Dr. Charles Sell, went to be with our Lord. Dr. Sell was an esteemed and cherished member of our Educational Ministries department for many years, and his profound impact on our institution and its graduates is immeasurable.
Dr. Donald Guthrie, Director of TEDS’s PhD (Educational Studies) program, reflects on his legacy: “The Educational Ministries department joins in mourning the death of Dr. Charles Sell. Charles was an instrumental member of our department for many years. His teaching, counseling, and writing helped prepare generations of TEDS graduates for a wide variety of ministry service. His decades-long commitment to teaching courses and hosting retreats that addressed how to nurture healthy marriages was a particularly fruitful contribution to the TEDS community, for which we are very grateful. We pray for God’s comforting presence to surround the Sell family as they mourn and remember our beloved colleague.”
