An Important Message For Online Students
May 9th, 2025
Dear Online Students,
Following the announcement of TEDS’ relocation to Trinity Western University (TWU), many of you have reached out with thoughtful and understandable questions. While not all details are yet fully known, I want to share clarity where I can.
There are three common questions I’ve received that I am now able to address:
Will all of my credits transfer to TWU?
Yes. TEDS remains accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), and this will continue as we transition to TWU. Students enrolled at TEDS through Trinity International University will be recognized as students at TEDS within TWU, and all coursework completed will apply fully toward your degree. Online options will also continue to be available.
Can I finish my current online program if I don’t graduate by May 2026?
Yes. All online students will be supported through the completion of their programs at TEDS, regardless of their graduation date.
Will we have adequate library access for theological research at TWU?
Yes. The ability to conduct advanced theological study is essential. Both master’s and doctoral students will have access to the necessary library resources at TWU.
I realize these answers do not cover every concern, and I share with you the weight of this transition. Many matters are still under discussion, and we continue to work carefully and prayerfully to bring clarity in due course.
Thank you for your patience and grace. I ask that you remain attentive to further updates as we are able to provide them.
David W. Pao
Academic Dean
