Church Profile: Grace Church is located in Racine, Wisconsin, a city located just south of Milwaukee in Wisconsin.
Grace Church was started in the early 1800’s by a handful of German Baptist believers and has grown to a regular attendance of approximately 650 each Sunday. Our goal is to Know Christ and Make Christ Known both locally and globally. We’re committed to faithfully preaching the Word of God and we use Charles Simeon Trust principles to guide us. We have many different ministries here, from the nursery to those retired. The community here in Racine is both diverse in age and in background, and we try to serve the community with our building, our ministries and involvement.
Position Overview: The Executive Pastor will support the Lead Pastor in the accomplishment of the church’s vision through the management of key ministry directors and will ensure the operational readiness of the church through oversight of key support staff. The Executive Pastor will also provide management of key administrative tasks vital in the day-to-day operation of the church. Pay will be competitive and commiserate with experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
–Staff Management –Help staff develop and reach goals that will accomplish the vision of Grace Church. –Lead a yearly performance review process for all staff in consultation with the Human Resource Advisory Team and the Lead Pastor. –Provide personal coaching to staff as needed to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. –Lead staff meetings and staff prayer times as assigned by the Lead Pastor. –Human Resources –Oversee Human Resources Team –Lead all hiring processes in close coordination with Lead Pastor and Elder Council. –Update employee Staff Guidelines and Work-Life Benefits handbook as needed. –Church Administration –Review and sign documents and contracts on behalf of the church. –Oversee annual report/annual meeting preparation. –Work with church attorney to provide legal review for church documents. –Provide an onboarding orientation process for all new employees/exit process for departing employees. Financial Oversight –Develop annual financial plans that fund the accomplishment of the strategic plan and yearly goals developed by the —Pastoral Leadership Team and Elder Council. –Lead yearly budget process as outlined in the Elder Council Handbook. –Attend FMT meetings and work with the FMT chair to provide communication and leadership within the finance ministry of Grace Church -First Impressions Team –Manage the newcomer welcome letter and call team for the First Impression Team ensuring the success and quality of care for all newcomers to Grace Church. –Oversee volunteer teams for ushers, greeters, welcome room teams, and first-contact callers in order to provide a small church atmosphere in a larger church setting. –Recruit and communicate with the usher volunteers. –Develop an annual budget for the First Impression Ministry. -Information Technology –Oversee the Information Technology needs for church staff including purchasing of computers and equipment, WiFi infrastructure and access points, maintaining the Google Suite for church employees. –Develop an annual IT budget. -General Duties –Attend all staff meetings, staff prayer meetings, staff retreats, and serves on the Pastoral Leadership Team and Elder Council. –Perform weddings and funerals as needed. –Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
