Trinity International University Announces Exciting Partnership with Israel Institute of Biblical Studies

DEERFIELD, IL – Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS), the divinity school of Trinity International University, is partnering with the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies (IIBS), a collaboration that promises to open new doors for online biblical language learning not only for alumni and friends of the University but also for constituents of IIBS. This partnership brings together, on the one side, IIBS’s success as a global provider of informal, online, introductory-level biblical-language training, and, on the other side, TEDS’s recognized excellence in preparing students for the reading and interpreting of the Greek and Hebrew texts. Whereas IIBS already has a similar partnership with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Trinity is proud to call itself IIBS’s evangelical partner, joining the broader effort to deepen the world’s knowledge of the scriptures while unabashedly lending its own distinctive evangelical stamp. “I meet too many working adults who tell me they would love to take the biblical languages at Trinity but lack confidence that, with all of life’s pressures, they would be able to keep up with some of the high-performing students that this institution attracts. Though such fears are unfounded, perceptions can be a real barrier,” said Dr Nicholas Perrin, President of Trinity International University. “Given IIBS’s track record of reaching audiences from around the world while moving at the individual learner’s pace, I believe that this partnership could give countless not-yet-Trinity students the confidence they need to run the table on our whole lineup of fully accredited biblical language offerings. Wherever IIBS lays the groundwork, we promise to build on that foundation—and go deeper.” Currently, this partnership revolves around three online Biblical Greek courses designed for working adults who are eager to read the New Testament in its original language in asynchronous, informal settings. Once IIBS participants are guided through basic Greek grammar and vocabulary, those who seek to “go deeper” can turn to Trinity as their next step in applying what they have learned.
