The EFCA North Central District’s Fall Teaching Conference was held the first week of October at Camp Shamineau in Minnesota. President Nicholas Perrin was the featured speaker. His messages series titled “Jesus’ Identity, Our Identity: Pastoral Vocation According to the Gospel of John” focused on four of the “I am” sayings of Jesus: the bread, the light of the world, the good shepherd, and the true vine. President Perrin drew on Old Testament background and other passages in John to help those present understand more deeply the uniqueness of Jesus and the power of his claims. He also guided attendees in seeing how these realities affect pastoral leadership in Christ’s church.
