Professor Zuetel graduated with high honors from San Diego State University in 1974, where he was a member of four national honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. In 1978 Prof. Zuetel graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law (top 15%), where he was Lead Articles Editor of the San Diego Law Review, and was published in that Review.

Professor Zuetel thereafter served as a federal law clerk for U.S. Senior Judge Martin Pence (D. Hawaii) in 1978-79, and then returned to Los Angeles where he was associated with two blue chip law firms in their ligation departments.

In 1988, Professor Zuetel formed a law partnership in Pasadena, California specializing in civil trial litigation, and has continued in the active practice of law for the last 45+ years. He is currently a Senior Trial Attorney at Tyson & Mendes, Los Angeles.

Professor Zuetel is a member of the California and Nevada State Bar Associations, has served as a State Bar Examiner, co-authored two bills which became California law, and has testified as an expert in civil law before the California and Nevada State Legislatures. Professor Zuetel has tried in excess of 150 jury trials, court trials, and binding arbitrators to verdict, served in an equal number as arbitrator, has served as Judge Pro Temp for the Los Angeles Superior Court, and has published numerous book chapters and articles dealing with California and Nevada civil procedure, MICRA and arbitration.

Professor Zuetel's area of expertise is in civil litigation, with an emphasis in tort law and ADR.
