Whether you work for a nonprofit organization or want to start your own, you need to be able to effectively lead your organization in order to further your cause. Trinity’s Master of Legal Studies in Nonprofit Organizations prepares you to do just that, while also giving you a strong background in the law so that your organization is protected as you make progress.
Legal Fundamentals (3 units)
Contracts (3 units)
Torts (3 units)
Philosophy and Theology of Justice (3 units)
Business Organizations (3 units)
Exempt Organizations (3 units)
Nonprofit Law (3 units)
Choose 9 units from the following:
Staffing and Compensation Administration (3 units)
Property (3 units)
Legal and Ethical Issues in Fundraising for Nonprofits (3 units)
Religious Organizations (3 units)
Strategic Planning (3 units)
International Non-Government Organizations (3 units)
MLS applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). The GRE is not required for admission. In addition to the application, applicants must provide official transcripts from the colleges/universities at which they have earned degrees and two letters of recommendation.
Per Unit: $750
Per Course: $2,250
Total Program Cost: $22,500 (tuition only)
The above totals do not include fees. All applicants are automatically considered for scholarships ranging from 20%-50%, which is renewable each semester as long as specific academic criteria are met (scholarship is not reflected in the above figures). Federal financial aid is also available.
