ADJUNCT PROFESSOR
Ray Hacke is both a constitutional law attorney and an award-winning professional sportswriter. He covered sports at all levels, from Little League to college and the pros, before God called him to pursue a legal career. In addition to handling religious liberty cases for the Pacific Justice Institute for the past eight years (and counting), he still works in sports journalism to a limited degree, writing columns and other pieces for WORLD Magazine, feature stories on college athletes for the Santa Cruz Sentinel, and high school sports stories for The Oregonian.
A 2010 graduate of the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law, Ray lives in Oregon with his loving wife Pauline and daughter Ava, who continually support his efforts in the legal field. The guiding verse for his law career is Psalm 11:3: “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Ray has dedicated his career to defending America’s foundational religious freedoms from encroachment and takes great satisfaction in holding powerful government and corporate entities accountable.
When not advocating for religious freedom or writing about sports, Ray can often be found at his daughter’s sporting events, providing play-by-play for his video recordings of her on-field accomplishments. Ray also enjoys coaching youth basketball in his church league, exploring new places, and spending quality time with family and friends.
