Since her appointment by Governor Gavin Newsom in August 2022, she has presided over criminal cases, felony arraignments and jury misdemeanor trials. Prior to her appointment, she founded and managed Dansby Law Group for 17 years wherein she litigated family law, civil and criminal matters. She presented the seminar free of charge at churches, schools, youth conferences, the San Diego NAACP, and the Boys and Girls Club. She has spoken on several panels designed to improve race and community relations, including forums sponsored by Cedric the Entertainer, the Los Angeles Law Library, and Chapman Law School.

Judge Dansby served as Chairperson of the Board of Outward Bound Adventures, President of the Board of Pasadena Rosebud Academy, and served as an active board member of Black Women Lawyers, California Women Lawyers and Drew Child Development Corporation in Watts, California. Since her appointment to the bench, Judge Dansby volunteers for the Temporary Judge Committee and the Community Outreach Committee. She is a member at Faithful Central Bible Church.
