Dr. Mary Ann McMillan is an Assistant Professor at Azusa Pacific University and Adjunct Faculty at Trinity Law School. She brings extensive law, criminal justice, education, and global affairs knowledge. She holds a bachelor's degree in Law and Criminal Justice from the University of North Georgia, a master's degree in Intercultural Studies, and a Doctorate in Education with a focus on orphan care in Rwanda from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. McMillan has significant international experience, having lived in Ukraine and the Czech Republic for 2.5 years. During her time there, she engaged in mission work and taught English. Her humanitarian efforts have spanned nearly 30 countries, where she provided training and support to Christian NGOs, government officials, and nonprofit organizations.

With 15 years of experience in student affairs, Dr. McMillan has also served as an adjunct professor for the past six years. Most recently, she worked as a Title IX Investigator and Director of Student Conduct at Jessup University. She made significant contributions to the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and HSI (Hispanic-Serving Institutions) committees. Her personal experiences as a former foster youth and adoptee drive her deep commitment to human rights, fueling her passion for advocating for foster youth and promoting social justice and equitable opportunities.

In addition to her professional roles, Dr. McMillan is also a writer. She has authored articles and contributed chapters to several books on foster care, adoption, abortion, and humanitarian work. She is working on a book reflecting her experiences as a former foster youth and adoptee. Her scholarship demonstrates her dedication to these issues and her desire to bring about meaningful change.
