Professor Lauren Guber graduated from Mount St. Mary's University cum laude with her B.S. in Biological Sciences in 2002. She received her JD cum laude from California Western School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006.

From 2007-2024, Professor Guber was a Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where she completed over 100 jury trials and was the office expert in the prosecution of cannabis extraction lab fires, explosions, and homicides. In March 2024, Professor Guber accepted a Deputy Attorney General position with the California Department of Justice in the Los Angeles Appeals, Writs, and Trials division, where she handles state criminal appeals. She also provides expert witness and investigation training for fire investigators and law enforcement through the California State Fire Marshal's Office and the California Conference of Arson Investigators.

Outside the office, Professor Guber enjoys traveling with her husband of 21 years and their two children. She also serves as co-leader of her daughter's Cadette Girl Scout troop. The family attends VantagePoint Church in Eastvale, California.
