Eddie Colanter has over 20 years of teaching experience for both undergraduate and graduate level courses at California State University, San Marcos, University of San Diego, and Trinity Law School (Trinity International University) as well as other academic institutions such as Faith International University & Seminary, and Azusa Pacific University. He has also been a guest lecturer for Worldview Academy Summer Youth Camps. The focus of his teaching and writing is in ethics, bioethics, logic, and philosophy of religion with a passion for teaching philosophy and interacting with students of all ages. Eddie Colanter has a B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Biology (University of California, San Diego), M.A. in Christian Apologetics (Simon Greenleaf University), M.A. in Faith & Culture (Trinity Graduate School, Trinity International University), M.A. in Bioethics (Trinity Graduate School, Trinity International University), and some doctoral coursework in Ethics at Claremont Graduate University. He has been a full member of both the Evangelical Theological Society and the Evangelical Philosophical Society for over 25 years, presenting 8 academic papers with an emphasis on ethics and bioethics. Publications include the chapter “Philosophical Implications of Neo-Darwinism and Intelligent Design: Theism, Personhood, and Bioethics” in Intelligent Design 101: Leading Experts Explain the Key Issues (Kregel, 2008), and contributed “The Problem of Miracles” and “Intelligent Design Theory” sections in Charts of Apologetics and Christian Evidences (Zondervan, 2006). Eddie and his wife Brit became members of the LCMS in 2014 with their children Avila, Monnica, and Augustine, and reside in Brenham, Texas. Besides teaching philosophy, he loves spending time with his family, hiking in Yosemite, and being part of the community at Grace Lutheran Church & School.
