ADJUNCT PROFESSOR
Deborah Wright is an employment attorney and workplace investigator based in Nashville, Tennessee. She brings two and a half decades of experience in employment law, human resources, and labor relations across a range of industries. Ms. Wright currently serves as a consultant and external workplace investigator for Employment Practices Solutions, Inc., where she leads investigations for Fortune 500 companies, law firms, and universities nationwide. Ms. Wright additionally holds contracts with Palo Alto Networks as an Employment Investigations Attorney and with Stansbury Weaver in Ohio as an HR Attorney where she advises startups and mid-sized businesses on HR compliance, internal policies, and risk mitigation.
Ms. Wright has conducted hundreds of workplace investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct. Her legal and HR background gives her a unique perspective on resolving complex workplace matters with both fairness and defensibility. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Wright held several positions in HR and Training where she honed her skills in all elements of HR including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, corporate communication, M&A due diligence, and mass layoffs.

Ms. Wright holds certifications from both the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) and the HR Certification Institute (PHR). In addition to her legal practice, she teaches and presents regularly on workplace investigations, HR compliance, and employment law best practices. She is also a certified workplace mediator and Rule 31 listed Civil Mediator with the TN Supreme Court. Ms. Wright has defended companies before the EEOC in addition to leading complex investigations and providing sound legal counsel on everything from proper recruiting and onboarding through tough employee relations to challenging RIFs and separations.
