TIU-Florida

Trinity International University will phase out TIU-Florida undergraduate and graduate program operations, effective at the end of the 2024 Spring Semester. For any additional questions regarding these changes please refer to the following resources.
Dear TIU-Florida Undergraduate Students,
As we know, higher education nationwide has faced substantial challenges, notably heightened over the past few years. Christian institutions have not been immune to these difficulties. While our Florida sites have taken significant steps to stabilize and improve enrollment, after careful deliberation and study, it is with a heavy heart that Trinity’s administration announces, with the Board of Regents approval, our decision to phase out operations at TIU-Florida, effective at the close of the spring 2024 semester.
Board Chair Neil Nyberg (‘74) said that despite the generosity of alumni giving and after extensive analysis and consideration, Trinity’s administration determined TIU-Florida had no viable financial path forward amid enrollment challenges, rising competitive costs, and a small endowment.

“Our students remain our top priority,” Trinity College Dean Karen Wrobbel said. “We will assist all currently enrolled students—including those on a leave of absence—with their degree completion needs.”

The Dean’s Office assures you that it will work with and support you, whether you choose to complete your degree through distance learning with TIU or to transfer to another educational institution. After giving this some thought, please let us know how you would like to proceed by filling out this short form. Should you desire to complete your degree through TIU, Dean Wrobbel will then follow up with you in order to tailor a completion plan that fits your needs. The sooner you can let us know, the sooner we can help you move forward.

If you are a Florida resident, we recommend you transfer to a school in-state, as you’ll instantly have the opportunity to avail yourself of the $3500 offer in the Effective Access To Student Education (EASE) Grant. We recommend that you consider Warner University, located in Lake Wales, whose mission is to guide “individuals toward Christ-like character and intellectual maturity while equipping them to serve.” The school is committed to the same level of Christian liberal arts education and community that you’ve come to love from Trinity, as well as offering many of the same programs. Please contact Scarlett Jackson, Director of Admissions, with any questions you may have about the University.

Please take time to visit the Student FAQ for some additional information and details about the implementation of this plan. If you have any questions as you contemplate this news and what’s next, please reach out to Associate Dean Susie Cohen. Please note that TIU-Florida’s Spring Subsession 2 will continue as scheduled (March 4–May 3), so we encourage you to finish out the year strong.

Whatever your decisions about your education in light of these changes, Trinity faculty and staff will be praying for you in the midst of this transition, supporting you in any way we can for the completion of your degree.
