University Leadership

Eric Halvorson serves as President of Trinity International University and Dean of Trinity Law School. He was appointed President by the TIU Board of Regents effective January 27, 2026, after previously serving as Dean of Trinity Law School from 2016 to 2019 and again beginning in 2022.

In addition to leading Trinity Law School, President Halvorson provides executive oversight for TIU’s academic centers and growing online educational programs, as well as the University’s Biblical Studies degree program serving incarcerated students at Fox Lake Correctional Institution in Wisconsin.

President Halvorson brings extensive experience in higher education leadership, law, finance, and corporate governance. He is a graduate of Duke University School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Duke Law Journal. A Certified Public Accountant, he practiced corporate law as a partner in a large Midwestern law firm and later served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of two publicly held companies. He has also served on the boards of five publicly held companies.

Earlier in his academic career, President Halvorson served as Executive in Residence at Pepperdine University’s Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences and later taught as an adjunct faculty member at Pepperdine Law School, where he received the David McKibben Award for Teaching Excellence.
