Presidential Scholars Weekend

Our Presidential Scholars Weekend will take place on our Deerfield campus on January 24-25, 2020. Participants will have an opportunity to compete for the Presidential or Kantzer Scholarships (covering tuition, room, board, and required fees), the Regents or Ruud Scholarships (full-tuition and required fees), the Dean’s scholarships ($20,000), and the Faculty scholarships ($17,000). Students accepted into the Undergraduate Honors Program are automatically eligible to participate in the Presidential Scholars Weekend.


A Word from Past Winners!



In order to be considered for this opportunity, students must:

  1. Be accepted to the Undergraduate Honors Program OR Achieve a CGPA of 3.75 or higher (4.0 scale) and a 28 ACT or higher, 1310 SAT or higher–Critical Reading, Math or an 86 CLT or higher.
  2. Be accepted to Trinity International University for Fall 2020
  3. Submit a completed FAFSA.

Once accepted to Trinity International University for Fall 2020, students who meet eligibility requirements will be sent an invitation.

Weekend Schedule

The weekend will include a campus showcase for all attendees, featuring a campus tour, chapel, lunch in the dining hall, and a classroom experience. The campus showcase will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

Friday, January 24—check-in is at 9:30am (Students required, family members welcome)

  • Campus Showcase
  • Banquet dinner for students and family members
  • Evening social event for students (overnight housing provided for students)

Saturday, January 25 – events run from 8:00am-3:00pm (Students only)

  • Personal interviews
  • Group discussions

Evaluation Process

Once the weekend concludes, students are evaluated on their performance, consisting of, but not limited to:

  • Personalized interview with faculty
  • Participation in a group discussion with other competitors
  • Comprehensive evaluation of the student’s admissions file

The Committee will make their recommendations to the President, and notifications of awards will be made in early February.
