High School Counselors

We are so grateful that you’re working to help your students navigate the college selection process and make a wise decision about which school they attend. We are eager to work alongside you to ensure your student has the opportunity to experience all that TIU has to offer. Below you will find an overview of some helpful information that we think will assist you in guiding your student. If you are interested in bringing a group of students from your school to visit TIU or want to invite TIU to visit your school, please fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If there are any questions you have, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

Application Process

  1. Create Account
Your student will need to create an account HERE
  2. Submit Application
Then they will need to submit their application
  3. Transcripts
Before we can make a decision regarding your students’ acceptance we need their transcripts. The application will prompt them to have us order them on their behalf. If your student has any questions or if you would like to send us their transcripts on their behalf, you can email our admissions operations team at [email protected]
  4. Test Scores*
If their ACT and SAT scores are not on their transcripts, they can be sent to us at the following school codes: ACT 1150 SAT 1810
*We are a test optional school, so they are not needed to be admitted, but they are needed to be considered for certain scholarships and preferred placement in higher level general education coursework.

Student Accessibility Resources

TIU readily welcomes students with documented learning disabilities and seeks to make the college experience a pleasant one for them and their families. The request for reasonable accommodations is handled by Dr. Peter Wright, Coordinator of Student Accessibility Resources ([email protected]). An application is made, documentation is reviewed, and reasonable accommodations are determined in consultation with the student.

Tutoring and Academic Support

TIU’s Thrive center is where we offer tutoring, academic assistance, College Level Equivalency Program (CLEP) Exams, make-up exams/quizzes, testing accommodations, learning style assessments, note taking and study skills assistance, and time management assistance. The Thrive Center’s services help students reflect, apply, and engage in their learning experience, and assist students with academic, personal, or social concerns.
