TIU’s BA in Psychology with a Counseling Psychology Emphasis (CPE) and MA in Mental Health Counseling (MHC) is ideal if you are striving to enter the professional counseling workplace with an excellent education achieved on a timely basis. This program expertly equips you to serve others through mental health counseling, addictions counseling, marriage and family therapy, grief counseling, sexual identity counseling, spiritual abuse counseling, adolescent therapy, and beyond!
You’ll earn both your BA and MA in as little as 6.5 total years.
In this dual degree, you have the opportunity to join the International Honor Society in Psychology, called Psi Chi.
While achieving your undergraduate degree in Psychology at Trinity, you may earn between 12-15 hours of graduate credit which results in a savings of graduate tuition. Along with that, nine hours of coursework from the master’s may count toward your bachelor’s, reducing the required hours for the bachelor of arts from 124 to 115.
Various faculty/adjuncts across disciplines and schools
In this program, you may earn a graduate degree approximately 2.5 years after you complete your undergraduate work by taking graduate-level courses beginning your junior year. This track allows you to take 3 graduate credits (one class) per semester upon completion of 70 hours of undergraduate work with a 3.0 GPA and permission of your advisor or department chair. A full load of graduate classes can begin the summer semester following senior year.
In addition to the requirements for general admission, you’ll need the following: An undergrad major that includes 9 hours of psych courses, including intro to psych, statistics, and either abnormal psych or a developmental psych course. An undergrad GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Scores from either the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). An interview may be requested by the TEDS Counseling faculty.
