Trinity has a variety of internship options that will give you the experience necessary to succeed in whatever sport and wellness management position you choose!
Trinity is located in a peaceful wooded setting, just 25 miles north of downtown Chicago. This prime location offers some of the nation’s best school districts, a variety of ministry organizations, and 12 Fortune 500 companies within 12 miles of campus to apply practically what you are learning in the classroom. In addition, Trinity is close to many coffee shops, restaurants, cultural experiences, and recreational activities when you need a break from the books!
Generally students complete their Sport and Wellness Management major in 3-4 years. Major requirements total a minimum of 61 hours. This includes 26 hours of Sport and Wellness Management core curriculum including 16 hours of Human Performance and Wellness, 4 hours of Biology, 3 hours of English, and 3 hours of Psychology. You will also need to choose an emphasis in either Sport Management or Health and Wellness.
As a Sport and Wellness Management major, you’ll see that education is not just limited to the classroom. Experience hands-on learning that fully prepares you for sport safety and emergencies as well as business management, interpersonal communication, athletic training and more!
The Sport and Wellness Management major is designed to prepare you for a variety of career opportunities available in corporate or community settings. Wellness counseling, personal fitness/ performance training, recreation/athletic director, sports marketing, sports media, and sports facility management are among the many possible career fields available to you as a Sport and Wellness Management major. Courses such as sport safety training, health and wellness, business communication, accounting, marketing and fitness will lay a strong foundation of knowledge to get you started.
At Trinity, you’ll be equipped to think critically and biblically in every area of life as you are challenged to apply your faith to your coursework and classroom conversations. And instead of approaching general education as a checklist of courses to be completed, Trinity’s distinctive educational approach gives you the freedom to choose courses that are most interesting and relevant to you. Working closely with your faculty advisor, you can select from electives to enhance your major, apply toward a minor, create a double major, or simply experience something new. The choices are yours! All along the way, you’ll be cared for and supported, ensuring that you make the most of your college experience.
