WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Your first two years are at Trinity International University (TIU) with undergraduate courses in general education within the Bible and Ministry major. The third year is a shared course load between TIU and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS). The final two years are in the MDiv program at TEDS, allowing students to earn a BA and an MDiv in only five years!

COURSEWORK

You will take 168 hours of coursework at TIU and TEDS. These courses are designed to meet the following goals:

  • Personal Maturity. The Advance: BA/MDiv graduate should be able to demonstrate a healthy sense of self in Christ, commitment to a lifestyle of ministry and progress toward godly character.
  • Cultural Engagement. The Advance: BA/MDiv graduate should be able to study the Bible in its historical and cultural context and apply it to present-day ethical issues.
  • Biblical Philosophy. The Advance: BA/MDiv graduate should be able to grasp the message of the Bible, interpret the Scriptures accurately, develop a Christian worldview, integrate faith, living, and learning.

FRESHMAN, SOPHOMORE & JUNIOR YEARS:

PH 180 Introduction to Philosophy 3 hours
Other general education courses and required major courses.
Undergraduate general education requirements that will be fulfilled by graduate-level courses and need not be duplicated with undergraduate work:
ID 5001 Foundations of Integrative Thought replaces either BI 101 or BI 111
ID 5002 Foundations of Cultural Engagement replaces one course in the Religious and Ethnic Diversity subcategory
One LR course (3 hours) replaces 3 hours of undergraduate elective credit.
JUNIOR YEARS:
Upon completion of 70 hours with a 3.0 GPA, students must submit an application and letter of recommendation to Trinity Graduate School Admissions to be accepted into the Dual Degree Program. Student takes ID 5001, ID 5002.
SUMMER BEFORE SENIOR YEAR:
Optional: Student takes modular courses in the May/July summer sessions.
SENIOR YEAR:
Student completes requirements for BA graduation. Student takes graduate courses, schedule permitting.

SUMMER FOLLOWING SENIOR YEAR:
Student takes modular courses in the May/July summer sessions.
Student takes any remaining course work in Fall. Student completes coursework for MA program.
Student completes requirements for MDiv graduation.
