Dr. Tommy Carrington was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and immigrated to the United States after graduating from high school. He settled in Miami, Florida, where he attended Miami Christian College (now Trinity International University, Florida Campus).

Dr. Carrington has been involved in ministry since 1985, serving as a Chaplain and Ministries Director with Miami Youth for Christ. In addition to his role with YFC, he is also the Founder/President of Impact 922 Ministries, a ministry focused on training, coaching, and mentoring youth leaders. He has also served as the Chapel Coordinator and Adjunct Instructor at Trinity’s South Florida Regional Center since 1997.

Dr. Carrington moved to Illinois to complete his PhD at TEDS, and has been teaching at TIU (Deerfield) since 2018. His academic and teaching interests include youth issues, and the role of the church in meeting the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical needs of people.

Dr. Carrington is a world traveler who frequently speaks at youth groups, churches, camps, seminars and retreats nationally and overseas.
