General education requirements may be met by taking TIU courses, through transfer credit, or through prior learning assessment including credit by examination. No course can satisfy two general education requirements, and only nine (9) credits can simultaneously count for both general education and any major.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH A BUSINESS DEGREE?

Based in the liberal arts tradition, the business major is designed to help students develop skills applicable throughout their lives by working in many different types of organizations, large and small businesses, nonprofits, and ministries. Trinity’s Business curriculum is geared toward practical application. This means working students can immediately use course concepts on the job.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must have:

  • A high school diploma or successful completion of the GED.
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (using a 4.0 scale) for all prior college work or high school work if no prior college credits.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in algebra and computer skills is also required.
  • Proof of English proficiency (for applicants whose first language was not English)

DR. WENDY L. MARTIN

Wendy L. Martin serves as the Wesley Anderson chair of the department of business at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. Before beginning her career in academia 25 years ago, Dr. Martin enjoyed a career in consumer goods marketing at Procter & Gamble and Schering-Plough, now Merck. Mainly choosing projects that lead to scale development from survey data, her primary research interest focuses on marketing for ministries. Her additional research efforts on inter-generational family businesses have been cited internationally over 500 times and have yielded several awards, including best papers and the designation as a Family Business Research Scholar.
