Ukrainian officials Colonel Oleksiy Tereshchuk, Chief of the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Pavlo Unguryan, Ukrainian Political and evangelical leader will visit Trinity’s Bannockburn campus on Monday September 11, from 1–2:15 p.m. to participate in a Community Table Talk. Among the topics of discussion will be the state of affairs in Ukraine, special program for training military chaplains, full-time military chaplains’ current appointments, and aspirations for chaplaincy training. They will also answer some questions from attendees.
In the fall of 2022, TEDS was approached by several higher-education institutions in Ukraine for support of theological education courses, chaplaincy, mental health training, trauma care, and faculty and leadership development. Trinity’s faculty and leadership quickly embraced the opportunity to share its expertise and walk alongside fellow educators to bridge any gaps resulting from the loss of staff or support.
Trinity is launching an undergraduate certificate program in chaplaincy that will be delivered in Ukrainian at no cost to Ukrainian students. The University is grateful for the generous financial ministry partners supporting this ongoing initiative.
