53–62 credit hours
We believe that God is revealed in both his Word and in his world. A study of both is necessary to develop a healthy, biblical worldview while studying the sciences, like chemistry. We will teach you to scientifically study the natural world in order to critically evaluate what you observe and gain a deeper understanding of God as he is revealed in the world, develop a sense of responsibility to the world, and appreciate aesthetically the wonders of the world.
Most chemistry majors finish their degree in 4 years. Major requirements total 53-62 hours, depending on which emphasis you choose. This includes 28-36 hours of required chemistry courses, 12-31 hours of supporting courses, and 3-6 hours of bioethics courses.
Trinity offers the chance to pursue a Master’s degree in Bioethics while you are completing your bachelor’s degree!
The purpose of the Chemistry major is to prepare you for a possible professional career in industrial chemistry, medicine, forensic science, teaching, or further graduate studies. Chemistry majors take courses in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, bioethics, scientific applications, research and analysis as well as gain professional experience in a chemistry-related field.
