\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity explores the nexus of biomedicine, biotechnology, and our common humanity. Within a Judeo-Christian Hippocratic framework, we anticipate, interpret, and engage the pressing bioethical issues of our day. As a center of rigorous research, theological and conceptual analysis, charitable critique, and thoughtful engagement, we bring clarity to the complex issues of our day.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our Origins\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn 1993, more than a dozen leading Christian bioethicists gathered to assess the noticeable lack of explicit Christian engagement in the crucial bioethics arena. This group sponsored a major conference in May 1994, “The Christian Stake in Bioethics,” and concurrently launched The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity. In 2007, CBHD formally became a center of Trinity International University.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our Involvement<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOver the years, the Center has initiated a variety of projects, including a number of conferences, consultations, and publications. As a leading voice, CBHD staff and fellows have appeared in a wide range of print, radio, and television news sources. In addition, the Center has collaborated over the years with a variety of organizations, including the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, Nurses Christian Fellowship, and the Christian Legal Society, as well as international institutions including the Centre for Bioethics and Public Policy and the Linacre Center both in London, England, the Lindeboom Institute for Medical Ethics in Ede, Holland, and the Ustav Medicinskej Etiky a Bioetiky, in Bratislava, Slovakia.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tMatthew Eppinette, MBA, PhD, is Executive Director of The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity (CBHD). Dr. Eppinette has two decades of experience in the field of bioethics, including serving CBHD previously, from 2002-2007. He holds a PhD in Theology with concentrations in Christian Ethics and Theology & Culture from the Center for Advanced Theological Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, where he also earned an MA in Theology. He is a 2004 graduate of the MA Bioethics program at Trinity International University, and he has an MBA with concentrations in Quantitative Analysis and Information Systems from Louisiana Tech University. His undergraduate degree is in Business Management and Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
