Support The Henry Center

For two decades, it has been our great joy to bridge the gap between the academy and the church by cultivating resources and communities that advance Christian wisdom. Please consider supporting our work for the glory of God, the good of his church, and the welfare of the world.

Continue the Legacy

Inspired by the enormous legacy of evangelical theologian Carl F. H. Henry, the Henry Center was founded as a part of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2006.
The Henry Center utilizes classically-informed thought to address modern theological questions. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the academy and the church by cultivating resources and communities that advance Christian wisdom.

Our Purpose

As a center whose identity is shaped around the concept of theological understanding, we recognize that conversations about such topics often generate noise, not wisdom. Instead of adding to this noise, we aim to harmonize past and current discussions in ways that produce insight, not just information. To achieve this task, we run a host of recurring programs involving a variety of people from across our community. We also fund faculty-led initiatives which draw attention to specific theological questions facing the evangelical church and academy.

Josh has been Director of the Henry Center since 2023. He is also Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he has served on faculty since 2012. After completing his undergraduate studies at University of Northwestern, he earned an MDiv at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a ThM at Duke Divinity School, and a PhD at Emory University, where he studied with Luke Timothy Johnson.

We have partnered with dozens of pastors, theologians, and biblical scholars to produce helpful publications on a wide variety of topics related to Scripture, doctrine, and ministry.
