Social Science majors usually finish their degree program in 3-4 years. Requirements total 60 hours. Up to 15 hours required in the major may be used to meet general education requirements.
TIU invites many notable authors, pastors, and ministry leaders to campus. Speakers in the past have included John Piper, Jill Briscoe, Os Guinness, Ravi Zacharias, and others!
The Social Science major is designed to provide you with a broad foundation in the areas of business, communication, criminal justice, history, political science, psychology, and sociology, while helping you to develop a Christian worldview. It also functions as a stepping-stone to graduate programs in the social sciences.
Requirements total 60 hours. Up to 15 hours required in the major may be used to meet general education requirements. You’ll take interesting courses like:
|First Discipline||Business, Communication, Education, History, Human Performance and Wellness (excluding HPW 180 and activities courses), Psychology, Political Science, or Sociology (9 hours at 300 level or above)||21 hours|
|Second Discipline||Second choice of any of the above departments or areas of study (6 hours at 300 level or above)||15 hours|
|Third Discipline||Third choice of any of the above departments or areas of study (3 hours at 300 level or above)||12 hours|
|Fourth Discipline||Any of the remaining five departments or areas of study listed above (3 hours at 300 level or above)||12 hours|
