Mountain View is a growing church in the Oregon City area. Our youth group runs around 80 students (middle school & high school).

Position Overview: The primary role of the Youth Pastor is to introduce young people to Christ, disciple them in spiritual growth, and equip them to serve Christ. The Youth Pastor also equips parents/guardians to disciple their children. The Youth Pastor is responsible for providing planning, promoting, and coordinating assistance and direction for all education and activities for grades six through twelve.

Position Standards: The Youth Pastor is expected to live a life of high personal moral standards based on Biblical principles in order to maintain a credible ministry with an uncompromised testimony. Adherence to Biblical, ethical, and fiscal stewardship shall be deemed critical. A commitment to seek a healthy balance of ministry, family, and continuing education as well as a commitment to personal spiritual growth is also required.

Position Qualities: Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God and a teachable spirit. A love and passion for young people, evangelism, and outreach. Willingness to relate to the unique needs of teenagers in today’s culture. A self-motivated leader capable of creating and executing a long-term vision. Strong strategic planning and administrative skills. Excellent relational skills to communicate with students and parents. A working knowledge of creative programming for student programs and events.

Position Responsibilities: Plan and execute high energy weekly services for students. Organize Middle School class during Sunday worship. Regular campus visits/activity visits for students. Communicate and minister to parents so they stay connected to what is happening. Plan individual hang out times with students. Organize specific outreach times to connect with unchurched youth in ourcommunity. Plan monthly activities for students to connect and invite friends. Make hospital calls as needed for youth. Develop a budget for the youth ministry. Assist the Lead Pastor as needed as other various tasks arise. Incorporate prayer/discipleship into the youth ministry. Develop service projects for the youth to serve. Plan an annual mission trip. Build a youth leadership team–both students, adults, and interns.
