Position Description and Overview: This position oversees the planning and leading of Sunday morning worship services, special worship times, and other music events. The position reports directly to the Senior Pastor but also is responsible to the Elders and the membership of the church. The work of the Worship Ministries Director will be reviewed annually by the Senior Pastor and Elder Board. In the performance of duties, this position includes but is not limited to the following areas of responsibility and accountability: · Oversee planning of each worship service. · The Worship Ministries Director is not expected to lead each service but to assure that each is well-led. · Oversee the theological content and tone of the services and encourage spiritual growth in the team. · Develop and coordinate worship teams. · Facilitate regular prayer for worship services. · Plan and coordinate special music (as applicable). · Plan and coordinate special worship events like Christmas Eve and Good Friday. General expectations: · To serve under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, the Board of Elders in accordance with Hebrews 13:17. · To be loyal to and supportive of Ministry staff and team members. · To be an active learner and listener in areas of responsibility. · To practice and model servant leadership. · To give whole-hearted support to the Statement of Faith, Constitution and Bylaws of the Village Church of Lincolnshire. · To become a member in good standing of the Village Church of Lincolnshire. · To maintain a set schedule, to be determined in discussion with the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications: · Instrumental (piano, or guitar) and vocal talent. · Strong administrative and organizational skills. · Ability to work with a variety of individuals involved with worship in an effective manner. · Experience and knowledge of church music. · Flexibility and an ability to effectively encourage others to use their skills to worship God. · A strong working relationship with the Senior Pastor and/or other applicable VCL leaders.
