OtherRole Details Schedule: Sunday -Thursday; Job Type: Full-Time (40-45 hrs/week); Salaried; Reports to: Lead Pastor.
Role Summary: The Student Pastor is responsible for leading middle and high school students of Valley View to a full life in Christ.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the evangelism, discipleship, and ministry to middle and high school students. Clearly communicate with parents about teaching and programming plans in the student ministry. Effectively plan and execute weekly programs (Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings), outreach events, camps, and other events. Be the primary teacher for student ministry programs and delegate to others to teach student ministry curriculum. Build relationships with students and Kingdom Workers. Oversee other student ministry staff. Work with and equip volunteers to lead and shepherd students. Actively work to recruit volunteers into the student ministry. Partner with Kids Ministry Director to help transition 5th graders into the student ministry. Meet regularly with Lead Pastor for ongoing development and coaching. Develop and implement a plan to partner with local schools. Implement a student leadership program. Preach on Sunday mornings when requested. General pastoral responsibilities shared by the team and other duties as required.
Qualifications & Required Skills: A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is growing and thriving with a heart for local church ministry. A degree and experience that have equipped them for the duties of the role. Alignment with Valley View’s mission, values, and doctrinal statements. A passion to work with students and their parents/families. Administrative, communication, and organizational skills. A good understanding of social media trends. A humble and teachable spirit.
