Student Ministry Intern

The Village Church of Barrington seeks a Student Ministry Intern to assist the Family Ministries Pastor in planning and executing the vision of the Student Ministry in general and Middle School Ministry in particular. This internship requires approximately 10 hours per week, which includes mid-week and the possibility of weekend responsibilities. This internship is compensated and will begin on or after May 1, 2025.

Purpose: • Provide valuable ministry experience by assisting in the spiritual formation of middle school students • Refine a personal philosophy of ministry through hands-on experiences • Bear fruit in the lives of students and families through the exercise of your spiritual gifts.

Qualifications: • A saving and growing relationship with Jesus Christ • A passion to see students grow in their relationship with the Lord • Sense a call to full-time vocational ministry, ideally in student ministry • Be teachable, humble and faithful in life and service • Agreement with the EFCA Statement of Faith Responsibilities: • Assist in planning ministry activities (discipleship, youth group, retreats, events, etc.) • Assist in supervising Ministry activities (Tuesdays weekly; events TBD) • Assist in teaching (frequency TBD) • Meet weekly with the pastor for prayer, mentorship, planning, and preparation • Attend an occasional staff meeting • Other duties as agreed to by the individual and pastor.
