Youth/Student MinistryDENOMINATION
Non-DenominationalOur goal is for our young people to learn to partner with God in transforming others into the likeness of Jesus Christ. We desire for students to study the Bible, grow in wisdom, and be devoted to prayer, worship, fellowship, service, evangelism and the Lordship of Christ.
FBC Youth Ministry Values: • Biblical Maturity – We desire for students to discover how God’s Word is practically relevant to their lives today. For them to begin to build a worldview based on biblical truth and to learn to practice spiritual disciplines. (2 Tim 3:16-17) • Fellowship – We desire for students to have meaningful Christ-centered interactions and strong comradery in the faith. For our young people to sharpen one another and to support one another as they grow into Christ together. (Prov 27:17, Heb 10:24-25) • Service and Evangelism – We desire that students develop ministry skills that include a heart for serving others as well as reaching out to other unchurched young people in the community. It is a high priority to offer periodic opportunities for service and outreach locally and cross-culturally. (2 Tim 2:2, Col 4:2-6) • Safe Environment – We desire fun gatherings that encourage our students to bring visitors, believers and seekers, to a spiritually safe and healthy environment. (Prov 13:20, 2 Tim 2:22) • Supportive of Parents – Parents have the primary role in discipling their own children. Our desire is that the FBC youth ministry supplements this work. We also recognize that many young people do not come from Christian backgrounds, and we want to welcome and disciple them as well. We desire open communication with parents and encourage their appropriate and active involvement.
