Position: Pastor/Teaching Elder
To provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of Mora and oversee the day-to-day operations of the church in conjunction with the Session, facilitating the fulfillment of the church’s mission and fostering community and spiritual growth amongst its members and the community at large.

Key Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Preach and teach the Gospel according to the Bible. Plan and lead worship services (including determining the order of worship and music) and administer sacraments.
● Provide spiritual guidance to the congregation.
● Lead bible studies and classes.
● Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, and confirmations.
● Offer pastoral care, visitations, counseling, and support to individuals and families in times of need.
● Moderate the Session and, with the elders, be responsible for the oversight of all ministries in the church.
● Give direction and support to ministry teams.

Church Administration:
● Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the church, including staff, budget and facilities, in conjunction with the Session, as prescribed by the Book of Order.
● Collaborate with church staff and leadership teams to execute and improve church programs and events.
● Ensure compliance with Evangelical Presbyterian Church standards and regulations.
● Faithfully represent the congregation in community organizations, Presbytery meetings and activities, and General Assembly.
● Uphold the current vision and mission of First Presbyterian Church.
● Serve on the board of Grindstone Lake Bible Camp.
● Perform Sunday afternoon services at the local nursing home on a rotational basis.

Shepherding the Flock:
● Lead by example and model Christian values and behavior.
● Foster community unity with the congregation and the community at large.
● Respect, listen to, and love your people, beginning with those entrusted to your pastoral care.
● Equip and empower church leaders and volunteers to fulfill their roles effectively, utilizing their gifts, talents, and abilities for the glory of God.
● Encourage a culture of congregant engagement.
● Embody a compassionate, generous and giving spirit. Have a warm and welcoming personality with a sense of humor.
● Demonstrate a strong belief in the gospel of Grace.

Qualifications:
● A deep and personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian values and ethics.
● Master of Divinity from an accredited theological institution.
● Ordained (or ordainable) in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
● Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills. An individual who is approachable and accessible.
● Leadership experience, preferably within a church setting.
