EFCASenior Pastor lovingly leads Faith Evangelical Free Church (FEFC) in fulfilling the church’s mission: Engage with the Lord and enter into his presence, Embrace people into our church family, Equip others to spread the Word, and Evangelize our families, friends, and communities. (James 3:17-18) (1 Peter 5:2-4).
Qualifications:
The Senior Pastor shall meet the Biblical standards for elders outlined in 1 Timothy and Titus. He must agree with and be able to defend the Statement of Faith for FEFC. He should be ordained by, or transfer his current ordination to, the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). Or he should be willing to obtain EFCA ordination within 2 years. He must be a man who understands the importance and power of prayer. Ministry Responsibilities Engage Exhibits clear evidence that he walks with the Lord as a repentant, born-again believer. Lovingly shepherds the congregation, equips the saints for ministry, and preaches the Bible (Romans 12:16) (Act 20:24). Believes, lives, and articulates the scriptures in a culturally relevant and spiritually effective manner. (2 Timothy 3:18-19). Embrace Communicates and builds relationships well with people of all ages in a loving caring, gentle, and humble spirit as Christ demonstrated (Matthew 11:29). Demonstrates God’s love through mentoring, discipleship, and coaching. Is a capable listener who offers an empathetic understanding of and concern for persons in the routines and joys as well as the crises and transitions of life. Forms healthy relationships with Faith Evangelical Free Church staff and ministry leaders. Equip Preaches and teaches Biblical principles clearly, specifically on difficult issues in our society and culture; equipping people in the congregation to stand for truth. Is a strong communicator who can convey a comprehensive understanding of the Bible and Christian theology in terms relevant to persons’ lives. Leads as a servant by example with the fruit of the Spirit evident in his life (Galatians 5:22-23). Evangelize Has a passion for sharing the Good News, meeting new people, and engaging them in a personal way. Sees Fall Creek and the surrounding communities as a mission field and equips the congregation to serve locally and throughout the world.
Senior Pastor Profile:
He should be 25 – 55 years old; preferably married with children. He should preferably have experience on how to oversee pastoral staff hiring, administration, discipline, and dismissal. He should have the demonstrated ability or the ability to learn how to delegate and empower ministry leaders. He should be committed to the EFCA and Forest Lakes District (FLD). He must be willing to be involved, supportive, and clearly communicate relationship with these entities to the staff, ministry leaders, and church at large. He should have a seminary degree or at least five years of equivalent experience in a pastoral role. He should have a strong desire to live in and be involved with the Fall Creek community.
Governance Relationships:
He shall be accountable to the Lord, the Scriptures, and the Elder Board for the faithful discharge of duties as described in the By-Laws of FEFC.
