As a nondenominational, Christ-centered, evangelical church located in a historic and diverse community of 25,000, Saint Luke’s Church has played a strong faith-based role in the community of Faribault, Minnesota since 1907. We are currently seeking a full time Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and expand discipleship with a strong vision for growth and outreach to the community.

The Pastor is responsible to the church for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, for using their skills in administrative leadership, for engaging in pastoral care ministries to meet the needs of persons in the church and in the community, and to act as the chief administrator of the ministerial and vocational staff. Qualifications for Pastor: A. Bible College and/or Seminary degree. B. Personal and growing relationship with Jesus. C. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. D. Ability to preach, teach and apply God’s Word. E. Ability to effectively relate with all age groups. F. Agreement with mission, core beliefs and with Constitution and By-Laws of Saint Luke’s Church.
Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Strong Biblical preaching. Maintain a regular practice of personal study and prayer to enable themselves to plan and conduct meaningful worship services. 2. Set as a guideline of personal behavior the standard required in I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1: 5-9 and I Peter 5:1-4 and the Saint Luke’s Church Constitution and By-Laws. 3. Prepare for and conduct worship services; lead in the observance of the ordinances; and, lead the church in proclaiming the gospel to the church and community. Officiate at Worship Services, Baptism, Dedications, Funerals and Weddings. 4. Visit members and prospects and lead the membership in a visitation program. This includes hospital visitation and regular visitation to shut-ins. 5. Supervise other members of the church staff according to staff organization. 6. Conduct premarital, vocational, family, bereavement, counseling sessions, etc., as needed. Advise other professional help when necessary. 7. Work with church officers and committees in performing assigned responsibilities. Be available for and lead in training as needed. 8. Serve as a representative of the church in civic matters. 9. Serve as the leader in seeking to win the unsaved and lead the church membership in evangelism training. 10. Serve as member of the Church Council in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the total church program while acting as a voting member of the Church Council. 11. Develop, oversee, and teach Christian educational programs for all ages. 12. Be computer literate and have a working knowledge of church programs (Churchtrac, Proclaim, etc.). 13. Maintain regular office hours, be accessible to members of the congregation when needed and be available 24 hours a day for special or emergency pastoral services. 14. Other duties as assigned.
