RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Leads a pastoral ministry of the Word and prayer towards the members and attenders of The Orchard – Barrington and the surrounding community. 2. Leads and grows the LIFE Group ministry in maturity and numbers. This includes: a. Connecting Barrington members and regular attendees to LIFE Groups in partnership with the pastoral staff, specifically the Pastor of Outreach. b. Recruiting, training, and developing LIFE Group leaders. This would include providing support and equipping them to care for their group’s members. 3. Leads the ministry to men (and the corresponding events/gatherings) at the church. 4. Oversees the Women’s Ministry Director for a uniform LIFE Group ministry and consistency between the men’s/women’s ministries. 5. Leads in implementing the church’s plan for pastoral care for the congregation, including: a. Leading in the weekly prayer and follow-up of the Connection Cards. b. Sharing in regular visitation and care of congregants in crisis and with medical emergencies. c. Sharing in pastoral duties related to child dedications, baptisms, membership, weddings, crisis care, death, etc. as needed. 6. Management of any affinity groups we may deploy under the direction of the Associate Pastor. 7. Assists in the execution of weekend worship by: a. Being present for welcome, connection, care, and prayer. b. Occasionally leading the “hosting” responsibilities in the services. 8. Involved in other pastoral responsibilities as directed by the Associate Pastor.

Qualifications for Pastor of Congregational LIFE position: • Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Divinity preferred. • Five plus years of ministry experience desired. • Theologically aligned and in agreement with EFCA Statement of Faith. • Ability to organize, analyze, and execute tasks in a timely manner. • Exercise discretion and good judgment in personal contacts. • Ability to communicate effectively with management, members, and volunteers. • Demonstrate professionalism through appearance, attitude, and personal interactions. • Self-motivated and able to initiate projects and work independently. • Computer literate to complete necessary tasks within software applications. • Positive and supportive attitude.
