Our church is located at 8600 N. Camino de Oeste in the northwest region of Tucson, Arizona. This location places us within the Marana School District, near the intersection of Camino de Oeste and W. Cortaro Farms Road. The surrounding area is characterized by a mix of residential neighborhoods and open desert landscapes. The church is easily accessible from major roads, making it convenient for local residents to attend services and events. Nearby, you’ll find a variety of shopping and dining options, including popular favorites like Walmart, Home Depot, Target, and many others. The community around the church offers a peaceful suburban atmosphere, contributing to a welcoming environment for worship and fellowship.

The responsibilities listed below are under the general headings of leading worship, providing pastoral care, and overseeing various ministries. The responsibilities listed are a living, breathing document.  They are not meant to detail everything that may be asked of our next Spiritual Leader, but they do give a sense of what is important to our church family.  Specific responsibilities will continue to emerge as relationships and ministry essentials are formulated.
Key Responsibilities of our Pastor/Shepherd (General): Our Pastor/Shepherd will be responsible for preaching and teaching God’s Word, overseeing pastoral care of our members, and helping the church to discern God’s ministry focus.
Worship and Teaching: Planning and leading weekly worship services, preparing and delivering sermons, and teaching Biblical principles. Overseeing the administration of the Lord’s Supper.
Pastoral Care: Overseeing pastoral care as families and individuals need support through the peaks and valleys of life. Performing baptisms, weddings, and funerals as requested by the church and in cooperation with the church leaders.
Ministry Leadership: Organizing and conducting our monthly Leadership Team meetings. Overseeing and promoting the multigenerational work of CVCC.
Community Engagement: Developing and implementing outreach programs to connect with the local community and promote the church’s mission.
Administrative Duties: Participating in administrative tasks in cooperation with our Church Administrator. Denominationally being an active member of the Classis of the Southwest.
Qualifications and Skills: Spiritual Maturity – Demonstrated faith, commitment to Jesus, the Christ, and a life lived in accordance with biblical principles.  Evidence of a teachable spirit, ability to work collaboratively, and encourage others in their desire to follow Jesus, the Christ.
Education: Typically a Master of Divinity degree (MDiv) or equivalent degree, or Commissioned Pastor Certificate.
