Trinity Community Church in Libertyville, Illinois is looking for a music director to lead the music for our Sunday services. Trinity is a church of about 100 strong in weekly attendance. We build our lives on the centrality of Christ and his work through the Cross and Resurrection. We value making worship, community, and mission the guiding principles of our lives, as explained by our Lord and his apostles. We gather weekly for song, the reading of Scripture, preaching, and the Lord’s Table. Song and responsive readings feature prominently in our Sunday worship.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
• Maintain personal devotion to the Lord and loving responsibility over your family.
• Participate in the life of Trinity Community Church (make TCC your church home).
• Lead music on Sunday mornings, incorporating historic hymnody with more contemporary selections of quality theological depth (Gettys, CityAlight, Sovereign Grace, etc.).
• Lead corporate prayer at points in the service.
• Recruit and develop volunteers for our music ministry.
• Choose songs aligned with Sunday’s message and the overall vision of the elders for worship at TCC.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Belief in the Christian faith as described in the early Christian creeds (Apostle’s, Nicene, and Athanasian), and the Trinity Community Church Statement of Faith, in addition to agreement on our five distinctives.
• Personal trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and an ongoing practice of repentance.
• Love for the local church and an eagerness to be involved in the life of TCC.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must be gifted in singing and public exhortation.
• Experience working with volunteers and leading a worship band.
• Familiar with a broad array of Christian worship music and hymns.
