The following job description and understandings are for the part-time minister at St. John’s Community Church, N 2560 Highway J, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin 53538

AVAILABILITY: It is understood by all parties that this is a part-time position. Absence from Sunday Church Service is expected, not to exceed 6 per calendar year. Availability for Lenten service shall be at least 3 of the Services. For Special Services of Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Easter, Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve, the expectation is that no greater than one of those may be missed per calendar year, and not the same one in consecutive years. It is understood that Minister’s availability will be limited (up to/including not available at all) on weeks where he does not preside over Service-with the exception that Minister will help secure the replacement and assist with the planning of Service. Visitation to the hospital or shut ins will be provided as need arises, and as the Minister is available at his discretion.

1. The minister will preside over the Sunday Church Service. When he is not available, ample time will be provided so that a guest speaker can be arranged. He will be compensated for preparation time for the Sunday Church Service as part of his salary package. He will preside over the weekly Lenten Service, Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve (as outlined in the availability section). 2. The minster will attend the monthly Church Council meeting, Annual Meeting and Semi-Annual Meeting and provide a report for each. 3. The minister will not be responsible for teaching Youth Sunday School. He may be asked to teach the Adult Sunday School. 4. The minister will conduct funeral and wedding services as he is available. 5. The minister will conduct confirmation classes or train an individual of the church to conduct confirmation. Council’s goal shall be that confirmation classes are done by a member. 6, The minister will be accountable to the Church Council. He will be responsible for the Minister’s page of the quarterly newsletter. He will keep the Facebook page reasonably current, reviewing and posting at least once per month. He will monitor the phone messages. 7. We are a nondenominational, Bible based church. 8. Additional benefits may be offered. This job description may be altered subject to negotiations. 9.
