Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA)RELATIONSHIP TO MISSION: Leads Community Covenant Church’s mission: To bring Christ’s Hope, Healing, and Wholeness to our community and our world. Provides Christ-centered, servant leadership of the church as the lead teacher/preacher, nurturing intentional discipleship environments, and pastoral care to individuals and families.
PRIMARY DUTIES: ● Lead the teaching/preaching ministry of the church as the primary teaching voice. ● Provide the overall vision and direction for sermon series planning and execution. ● Provide key leadership and vision for the church as a Leadership Team Member and as a lead participant of the Core Staff Team. ● Plan, execute and oversee intentional discipleship. ● Provide pastoral care for individuals, couples, and families as needed. ● Oversee and manage the budget. ● Provide oversight and care for ministry leaders. ● Lead the church to support and encourage missional outreach and partnerships.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: ● Must have an authentic and growing love for Jesus Christ and for others. ● Demonstrated experience in biblical teaching/preaching. ● Demonstrated leadership experience in building and leading teams. ● Demonstrated experience in pastoral care. ● Ability to effectively supervise others. ● Administrative, communication and time-management skills. ● Preferred advanced degree in Theology, Divinity, or related field.
PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS: ● Reports to the Leadership Team and to the congregation. ● Participates as a member of the Leadership Team. ● Primary oversight for the Core Staff Team and Ministry Directors. ● Oversight of the education system within the church. ● Involved with the Alaska Conference Evangelical Covenant Church. ● Meets with the Pastoral Care Committee.
