Overview: Grace is an international English-medium school that primarily serves the expatriate community in Dhaka. Grace recognizes the need for all staff and students to know the English language well.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with other English and Humanities teachers regarding teaching English Language, Literature, and Humanities for the British Curriculum of Secondary Level Students. Oversee the provision of specialised instruction and support for students requiring additional English Language Support in collaboration with the EAL Specialist and SEND Specialist. In Collaboration with the EAL Specialist, design a curriculum to teach Business English to national staff groups in the school to improve English language proficiency and professional development. Provide teaching support for Academic English Language, Literature, and Humanities. Develop customized lesson plans and teaching materials based on student needs (e.g. communication skills, business writing, presentation techniques, negotiation, etc.). Conduct needs assessments to identify students’ academic language proficiency and specific learning goals. Provide feedback and track students’ progress in mastering academic and business-related English vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills. Foster a positive learning environment and encourage active participation and confidence-building in language use. Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles, backgrounds, and levels of English proficiency. Maintain records of student performance and provide periodic progress reports to students and/or management. Stay current on trends in business language usage and teaching methodologies to ensure the highest quality of instruction.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, Education TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification (or equivalent). Experience of/or qualifications in teaching Humanities subjects. Strong knowledge of professional communication practices. Understanding of cross-cultural collaboration and work. Ability to use technology and online learning tools effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students succeed in their professional language development.
Essential Skills: Native English speaker. Preferred Skills: Experience working with multinational clients. Overseas experience. Working Hours: Flexible hours depending on student needs. Some evening and weekend classes may be required.
