Children's Pastor

We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Children’s Pastor to join our team and lead our children’s ministry with creativity, compassion, and a heart for discipleship. The person called to be with us will have the opportunity to pastor in a brand-new building in a growing church in a thriving community.

Position Summary: The Children’s Pastor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade). This includes creating a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment for 100+ children to learn about Jesus, equipping volunteers, partnering with parents, and aligning with the overall vision and mission of Encounter Church.

Key Responsibilities: • Lead and develop a comprehensive children’s ministry program of 100+ kids for multiple Sunday services, midweek activities, and all special events. • Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers and leaders for multiple services and events. • Create a safe, welcoming, and age-appropriate environment for children to encounter God. • Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families. • Select or develop curriculum that is biblically sound, engaging, and relevant. • Manage ministry budget and resources effectively. •  Ensure all volunteers comply with child safety and background check protocols. •  Collaborate with church staff and leadership to support church-wide initiatives and events. • Partner with parents to support spiritual growth at home. • Partner with local schools to build relationship in our community. • Partner with Encounter Daycare to bridge the daycare to Encounter Kidz Church. i.e. chapel services. • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for ministering to children and families.  • Previous experience in children’s ministry or a similar role.  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.  • Ability to lead and inspire volunteers and staff.  •  Degree in ministry, education, or a related field (preferred, but not required). •  Alignment with the vision, values, and statement of faith of Encounter Church. • Valid Driver’s License.
