Non-DenominationalPurpose: Direct CrossRoad Church children’s ministry for children through 5th grade. Maintain existing programs and develop new programs to teach the faith. Actively recruit and manage a volunteer staff from among existing church members.
Education, Skills, & Experience: · Prior experience recruiting and managing non-paid volunteers in a church, non-profit or similar organization. · Enjoy working with children and adults in a team environment. · Exceptional oral and written communication and organizational skills. · Prior experience in children’s ministry in a church setting preferred. · Degree in elementary education or related field preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities: · Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and practice a Christian lifestyle. · Manage existing children’s programs (e.g. Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Summer Programs, etc.) and develop new initiatives designed to create a safe, welcoming environment for children to experience the love of God and to build relationships with others. · Implement the recruiting, training, tracking, and evaluation of the children’s ministry volunteer team. Ensure all Child Protection Policy guidelines are followed for all volunteers. · Maintain open lines of communication with children’s ministry families, church community, and other ministries through publicity, presentations, announcements, newsletters, electronic reminders, events, and intergenerational activities. · Support parents in the spiritual development of their children. Assist parents to connect with other families within the church. · Work with church staff to incorporate children’s ministry into the overall life of the church. · Prepare annual budget related to children’s ministry and manage expenditures throughout the budget year. · Assist volunteer leaders of the special needs class. · Manage activities of the Nursery Director. · Participate in annual relevant and approved continuing education.
Reporting Structure & Classification: · Reports directly to Senior Pastor · Supervises Nursery Director and Volunteers.
