Overview: The Children’s Discipleship Coordinator provides support for children’s ministry; including Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, and other special events; ensuring they are aligned with the mission, vision, values, and strategies of Village Church. Job Responsibilities and Duties: • Meet weekly with Children’s Discipleship Director; collaborate on upcoming ministry needs and coordinate tasks with administrative staff. • Manage weekly tasks; attendance rosters, print curriculum, prepare lesson supplies. • Be a visible and available presence on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings; assist in setting up and tearing down of classrooms. • Assist children’s worship leaders in slide preparation and tech needs. • Assist Children’s Discipleship Director in the recruiting and caring for children’s ministry volunteers. Schedule volunteers on a rotating schedule. • Purchase and manage classroom supplies for ministry and events. • Work with the Communications Coordinator for event promotion, social media, website updates, and other communication needs. • Work with administrative assistant to ensure room reservations are in facility scheduler and the database is current as it relates to children’s ministry. • Maintain various documents, assist in various event-oriented tasks, and complete other duties as assigned by the Children’s Discipleship Director.

Job Skills and Requirements • Evidence of a vibrant and mature relationship with Jesus Christ, exhibits exemplary Christian character. • Holds to a ministry philosophy compatible with the mission, vision, values, and strategy of Village Church, including the Statement of Faith. • Heart to work with children and commitment to advance the gospel. • Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to recruit others to help accomplish a vision. • Exercise discretion and good judgment in personal contacts and communication. • Excellent administrative and organizational skills. • Academic degree appropriate to the duties outlined preferred; experience in children’s ministries preferred: consideration given to equivalent combination and experience.
