University Organist Paul Satre will return to conduct Rutter’s evergreen “Star Carol” and Craig Courtney’s evocative setting of “Silent Night,” and Professor Chuck King will conduct a new-to-Trinity setting of the Advent hymn “Savior of the Nations Come.” As usual, the program will be framed by three great traditional carol settings for choir and orchestra by Sir David Willcocks: “Once In Royal David’s City,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”
Faculty, staff, TGS, and TEDS students are invited to sing with the Concert Choir and Alumni in Trinity’s Lessons and Carols service, in the Chapel on Saturday, December 4, at 3 PM!
Festival Chorus participants will receive scores and recordings in October, meet for two Tuesday evening rehearsals (November 16 and 30 at 7 PM), and rehearse with the Concert Choir and Orchestra on Friday evening, December 3 (at 7 PM, the night before the concert).
Please RSVP (and send any questions) to [email protected] Interested colleagues and students will be directed to a short questionnaire about the choral experience. Trinity Choir director Chuck King will follow up with each inquiry.
Those who are current on an orchestral instrument may also inquire about possible spots; please contact Don Hedges at [email protected] if interested.
