The Rising is a small Baptist church in Arvada, Colorado (a suburb northwest of Denver) that is searching for an enthusiastic and dedicated new senior pastor to replace our current senior pastor who is retiring later this year after 25 years of devoted service.
We are looking for a pastor who is a strong preacher with good communication, mentoring, and discipleship skills with special emphasis on church growth, pastoral care and helping the poor. The church began in the 1960s and currently has a weekly attendance averaging 30-50 people.
The Rising operates a vibrant and prominent ministry called Mission Arvada that ministers to the poor, hurting, addicted, marginalized, and homeless of our community. One of the senior pastor’s duties includes overseeing and providing guidance to Mission Arvada.
This is a bi-vocational position that we hope will become full-time in the foreseeable future. Our church is currently able to offer a $35,000 salary and benefit package for this position ($35,000 will be the total amount offered for salary, and/or housing, and/or healthcare in the combination that works best for the person coming into the position). We would expect the pastor to work about 28 hours a week.
