Job Description

The Potter’s House (pottershousecamdenton.com) is seeking a full time Youth Pastor.

The Church
Purpose Statement: The Potter’s House exists to be the church, by making Christ-committed followers who will make Christ-committed followers in our community and around the world, through relevantly teaching and living the pure Word of God.

Who We Are: The Potter’s House of Camdenton is an evangelical church led by a team of Elders who seek to shepherd our people to live out our Purpose Statement by God’s grace. We intentionally partner with and support missionaries around the world including the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention.
We are committed to expository preaching and team leadership. We currently average over 300 people on Sunday mornings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• He must be a spiritually mature believer who meets the qualifications for an elder as outlined in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
• He must be in agreement with the Doctrinal Statement and Bylaws of TPH.
• He must be a member of TPH and be willing to submit to the leadership of the Elders.
• He must have the ability to work cooperatively with the other leadership at TPH (i.e. team player).
• He must have the ability to exercise wisdom and discernment in dealing with people and in making decisions.
• He must have the ability to effectively communicate in both public and private forums (i.e. speaking skills).
• He must have the ability to motivate and direct other people (i.e. leadership skills).
• He must have the flexibility to work well with a diverse group of people and adjust quickly to changes.
• He must be a capable administrator who is able to organize his priorities and time to ensure all his responsibilities are carried out in an orderly fashion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide oversight for the Student Ministries of TPH (i.e. Jr. High, High School).
• Build and train a staff of volunteers who can assist in shepherding students.
• Develop and implement a small group discipleship program in which every student will have the opportunity to be personally discipled by an older, more mature believer.
• Develop and lead a dynamic weekly program where you Equip believing students and Evangelize non-believing students through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God.
• Visit the local public and Christian school campuses on a regular basis for the purpose of building relationships with students, teachers, coaches, etc.
• Provide biblical and practical counsel for students and their parents.
• Communicate regularly and meet quarterly with the parents (i.e. Parent’s Meetings).
• Plan and administrate an annual Summer Camp and Winter Camp for the students as well as quarterly events and activities for the purpose of fun and fellowship.
• Plan and lead local, national, and international short-term mission trips throughout the year involving the students as well as other members of TPH.

Brief Summary of Pastor of Student Ministries Role:
The Pastor of Student Ministries will be primarily responsible for ministry to 7-12 graders. He will also build and work with a staff of volunteers to carry out a Wednesday Night Program for 3-5 graders.
On Wednesday nights we currently average:
• High School (9-12 grades) = 30
• Junior High School (6-8 grades) = 60
• 3-5 grades = 40

Compensation:
$55K (church will help set up a strategic tax plan to best help offset taxes including housing allowance, insurance, etc).
-Matching 401k up to 3%
-$75/month phone allowance
-Budgeted allowance for materials, conferences, travel, training, etc.
-Years 0-5: (after 6 months of full-time employment) 12 days of vacation time are earned and 10 additional days of sick/personal days. (These increase every 5 years)
-Years 5+:  a 4-week sabbatical will be given.  Following first Sabbatical, every 3 years of service.  An additional $2,500 will be given for any travel or educational expenses during that time.
