Stutsmanville Chapel is non-denominational Christian Church 75-250 in picturesque Northern Michigan seeking a Senior Pastor. The Holy Spirit is working thru our church body with engaged members, a growing Children’s Ministry, and a thriving small group ministry. We are a community oriented (e.g., wood-bees, funerals, and our Journey to Bethlehem Christmas Production) rural small-town church.

General Description
The Senior Pastor of Stutsmanville Chapel as an Elder is a spiritual leader and shepherd of the church. The Senior Pastor will meet the personal and spiritual qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1Peter 5:2-3. He is responsible to preach and teach the Word of God and lead the people and the ministries of the church to fulfill the Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). The Senior Pastor is accountable to work collaboratively with the Elders, Deacon Board, church staff, and other ministry leaders. Through fellowship, encouragement, cooperation, prayer support, and other appropriate methods the Senior Pastor works to assure effective, efficient, and coordinated teamwork in all of the ministries of the church. He must be willing to perform his duties in accordance with the constitution and bylaws of the church.
Professional Qualifications
• The Senior Pastor should have Bachelor’s Degree. Degree in theology would be given preference.
• The Senior Pastor preferred to have pastoral experience.
Personal Qualifications
• A person of faith, vision, and leadership.
• Have an ability to effectively preach the Word of God as it is written in the Bible (exegesis) at all worship services and at other formal/informal gatherings. Preach relatable and applicable messages that encourage and challenge people to know and grow in Christ.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• Be an effective communicator outside of the pulpit. He should be flexible, friendly, tactful, compassionate, approachable, and honest.
• Maintain a regular and disciplined personal worship, Bible study, and prayer life.
• Ability to handle conflict biblically according to Matthew 18:15-17 and Matthew 5:23-24.
• Exemplify the scriptural qualifications of an Elder.
Ministry and Staff Responsibilities
• Serve as a member of the Elder Board and Deacon Board, a group responsible for the leading the church to function in alignment with God’s mission and vision for the church.
• Coordinate worship services with the Worship Leader, support pulpit supply when absent or unable to preach, and be able to conduct the ordinances of the church, including communion, baptisms, wedding ceremonies, and funerals according to scripture.
• Work with the Elders and Ministry Leaders to plan, coordinate, and evaluate the total church program.
• Give biblical counsel, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
• Work with staff and ministry teams to provide pastoral care with a high level of community involvement.
• Maintain accountability with the Stutsmanville Chapel leadership in all areas of ministry for spiritual and church growth.
• To mentor and supervise members of the Pastoral Staff of Stutsmanville Chapel in spiritual matters and professional development of the Pastoral Staff as well as any other staff as may be hired in the future.
