GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Pastor is responsible for being a shepherd and spiritual leader of the Christian faith, with shared Biblical worldview. Their duties include preaching sermons to their congregation, participating in charitable activities and church events and meeting with members of the congregation to help them strengthen their faith or overcome significant life changes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
* Preparing sermons by researching and presenting Bible lessons to the congregation to meet their spiritual needs.
* Leading regular church services.
* Preparing and teaching confirmation classes.
* Visitations with members as needed.
* Attending meetings (Council, etc.).
* Attending Sunday School / Youth Group functions.
* Officiating at special occasions in the lives of the congregation, such as weddings, baptisms and funerals.
* Being involved with organizing missions.

St. John’s Church is seeking a full-time pastor to be the spiritual leader of our congregation.
First organized in 1865, the church is nestled in a rural Minnesota community about an hour’s drive west of the Twin Cities. We have an active Sunday School program, Youth Group, and a variety of Bible studies among the many active organizations within the church. The governing body is the membership assembled in church meeting, and elected council members transact the day-to-day business of the church. St. John’s is a Christ-centered, family friendly church with about 130 members, and is a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC’s) denomination.
