We, the search committee of Sand Lake Chapel, have been charged with the arduous task of finding the man that God has called to be our shepherd. Our church is located in the rural area of Britt, Minnesota and as our name suggests, we are surrounded by lakes in the beautiful Superior National Forest. Our present pastor, Dick Lohry, has notified us of his retirement at the end of May, 2024. Although we are saddened by this news, we look forward to the prospect of warmly receiving a new pastor who has heard God’s divine calling and answers this call to shepherd our people.
We are a small congregation, but even though we are small, we see the great potential to increase our membership with the residents of this area. We have been praying mightily for just that! The nearest church to the north of us is 18 miles away in the rural area of Alango. The nearest churches to the south of us are 15 miles away in the town of Virginia. Frankly, we believe that our church is one of the few churches left that is teaching the uncompromised Word of God from the pulpit.
We will take every resume seriously. We understand that each resume represents a man’s livelihood and the direction the Lord is leading him and his family, as well as the life and leadership of our own church. We want you to know that each of us on the search committee will be praying fervently for God’s will in this endeavor.
